GoAnimate - Click here to see an example used to introduce plagiarism to students. Jing - Captures anything on you see on your computer screen, as an image or short video, and lets you share it instantly. Wiggio - A great collaboration tool in the cloud. It's free to use and easy to set up. Plickers - Easy formative assessment with Plicker's cards. KidBlog - "Kidblog meets the need for a safe and simple blogging platform suitable for elementary and middle school students. Most importantly, Kidblog allows teachers to monitor and control all publishing activity within the classroom blogging community." Fotobabble - Narrate pictures that you upload. Pic-Lits - "PicLits.com is a creative writing site that matches beautiful images with carefully selected keywords in order to inspire you. The object is to put the right words in the right place and the right order to capture the essence, story, and meaning of the picture." Pics4Learning - A great resource of free, copyright free pictures for use in the classroom. Prezi - A presentation tool that can be used to create great, animated presentations. Easy to upload a PowerPoint. Padlet - A great real time brainstorming tool. Very easy to use. Like online Post-its. Adobe Voice - Easy creation tool so kids can show what they know. Tellagami - Fun avatar video maker. Quick way for kids to show what they know, or as a lesson hook. |

Free Kids Music - A great selection of old time traditional songs and many not so traditional. All very G rated for classroom use. Edmodo - "Edmodo provides teachers and students a secure place to connect and collaborate, share content and educational applications, and access homework, grades, class discussions and notifications. Our goal is to help educators harness the power of social media to customize the classroom for each and every learner." Blabberize - Fun, fun, fun! Create talking pictures. Students can use a fun image to retell a story or explain a concept. Photostory 3 for Windows - Desktop tool (pre-loaded program) that can be used to have children illustrate or take pictures and then narrate to demonstrate concept understanding. A very easy program to use and manipulate. Socrative - "Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets." Storybird - "Storybirds are short, art-inspired stories you make to share, read, and print. Read them like books, play them like games, and send them like greeting cards. They’re curiously fun." A great way to practice creative writing. Vocaroo - A free site to easily record and embed into other projects. Three Ring - A great, secure way to compile student portfolios. There is a direct connection between your smartphone and the program. You can take pictures of the child's work, and attach to that child's portfolio. Edcanvas - (Now known as Blendspace) Free VERY interactive presentation tool. Twiducate - Free, but need to create an account. Similar to Edmodo, but you can sell kids on the similarity to Twitter. Quizlet - Online flashcards. You can create your own or use some that are already created. Make sure you really look at the ones that are out there for accuracy. |
